Ceramic bearings are known to roll faster, saving energy and allowing faster cruising speeds compared to an equivalent steel bearing. They are also lighter than equivalent steel bearings, so swapping to ceramic bearings will reduce the weight of your bike. On the down side major disadvantage is that ceramic bearings have lower load capacities in comparison to metals and are sensitive to thermal shock. This results in an internal stress which if exceed the strength of the material will form crack. But it’s worth trying for normal rides.
