I figure with all ebikes, they come with some kind of battery, maybe a lithium one, or one more relating to a car battery or scooter battery. Anyway, how long do most ebike batteries last? Are they pretty decent at lasting? Or do some ebikes require you to charge anything? Or is it more like a car battery, where you don’t normally need to charge it?

I think some use lithium, but I think you can get traditional cell batteries, probably not a 6 cell battery, but something smaller, maybe 2 cell or 4 cell. You don’t need anything major.
October 15, 2021 at 7:06 am #1964iamandisykesKeymasterThis question is a little like asking how long a piece of string is. Ebike battery life and eBike range can greatly vary on a number of factors. The first one is how large is the capacity of the battery, and then how much torque the motor delivers. Then on top of this the weight of the bike/rider, the types of riding, how much climbing you’re doing etc And to answer your other question, yes you do need to charge the battery. Riding the bike won’t charge it up.

I usually ride on the roads and like to ride on the trails, so all terrain would be best. But I don’t intend to do any riding on a mountain or up steep hills.

Ebikes can go up to 120 km per charge. The best way to charge these batteries would be to charge them when they are at 30% to 40% charge and not when fully drained as that could reduce the battery life considerably.
