Reeb Cycles Unveils the Steezl: A 155mm-travel Enduro Bike with a 3D-printed Bottom Bracket Cluster

Reeb Cycles, a boutique mountain bike company based in Lyons, Colorado, has unveiled the Steezl, a new enduro bike that uses 4130 chromoly tubing and 3D-printed frame components. The bike offers 155mm of rear travel, and can be run as a 29er or with a mullet set-up.

When it comes to new mountain bikes, it often feels like every release is just a slightly different take on the same old carbon fibre, high-pivot design. That’s why it’s refreshing to see a company like Reeb Cycles take a different approach with their latest offering, the Steezl.

The Steezl is a 155mm-travel enduro bike that eschews carbon fibre in favour of 4130 chromoly tubing and 3D-printed frame components. The result is a bike that stands out from the crowd with its clean lines and simple design.

One of the most notable features of the Steezl is its versatility. The bike can be run as a 29er or with a mullet set-up thanks to a set of flip-chips, and it’s designed for 160mm to 170mm-travel forks. Additionally, Reeb is offering the Steezl in five sizes, from small to double-extra-large, with two different rear-end lengths and the option to choose between longer or shorter chainstays.

But the Steezl isn’t just about looks and customization options. Reeb has put a lot of thought into the bike’s frame and suspension design to ensure that it performs well on the trails. The Horst-link suspension layout, which uses an aluminium seat and chainstays, has been tweaked from the previous Sqweeb model to improve pedalling performance and reduce kickback. The kinematics have been honed to create a smooth and consistent pedalling experience whether you’re climbing up a fire road or blasting through a scree field at race speed.

Reeb has also utilized 3D-printing technology in the construction of the Steezl’s bottom bracket cluster, resulting in a part that is both lighter and stronger than it would be if it had been machined instead.

Of course, all this technology and design doesn’t come cheap. The Steezl will be available in April 2023 with complete builds starting at $6,695 USD. If you prefer to build up your own bike, you can opt for the frame and shock for $3,795 USD or the chassis kit for $4,995 USD.

Ultimately, whether the Reeb Steezl is worth the investment will depend on your individual preferences and priorities. If you value a bike that stands out from the crowd, offers versatility and customization options, and has a simple and clean design, the Steezl may be worth considering. However, if you’re looking for a bike with more bells and whistles or a lower price point, you may want to keep shopping around.
