Did you see the news about the new Aluminium Santa Cruz Chameleon? Did you see the price! This is why we think the Sonder Signal is the bike you should be buying.
Let’s get one small point out of the way before we continue. We don’t dislike Santa Cruz, we actually have on in the Edit fleet. And if you really must have a Santa Cruz then the new aluminium Chameleon is the most affordable way into Dentistry ah we mean Santa Cruz ownership.
But, the Elephant in the room is that the new Santa Cruz really isn’t great value for money! Starting at £2399 with a selection of entry-level parts means that if Santa Cruz were to offer a frame only option, it would cost as much as a complete Sonder Transmitter!
And this is exactly where we would put our money! Sonder has a long history of producing some excellent complete builds that have proven to outperform more expensive bikes. Unlike the new Santa Cruz Chameleon, Sonder offers the Transmitter as a frame only too, costing a pocket money friendly £399!
2022 Santa Cruz vs Sonder Transmitter
The Santa Cruz Chameleon D build offers a level of build in comparison to the Sonder Transmitter SX Eagle. The Sonder has somehow managed to get their bike on the market for over £1000 less! Check the comparison table below

So for £2199, you could bag a Transmitter with a Pike Ultimate fork, SRAM GX Eagle, Guide R brakes and a Reverb dropper post, and you would still have £200 left to pick up a fancy helmet, or a new pair of riding shoes.
Like we’ve already pointed out, we’re not saying that you shouldn’t buy the new aluminium Santa Cruz Chameleon, but we are saying if you bought a Sonder you could save as much as £1000 and have just as much fun!
