I kinda want to start riding more tough terrain, but I don’t want to get a special bike for it. Could I just get all terrain tires and use those instead? Would I need to modify much to make that work? I want to attach them to an existing mountain bike.

For rough roads MTB tires would be much better than all terrain tires. they have low PSI and good thread for gripping gravel, rocks that are found on unfinished trails. They also provide good traction, it makes your ride even more comfortable and safe.

All-terrain tires provide good grip in roads as well as in off-road trails. They are well balanced for long distance riding also. If looking for multi purpose bike you can go for them. But if you want to ride rough terrains Fat MTB tires would be much better.

Fat tires will be of great choice. It’s specially designed for unstable terrain, such as snow, sand, bogs and mud.

MTB tires are made to withstand rough terrain and so these tires would suffice.

ATB tires are great, it’s sleek and provides comfortable ride on the asphalt and off roads. It’s more useful in places where the climate changes often and in places of sudden rain fall and snows. These tires provide better control and traction than stock bike tires and not too bulky as MTB tires.
