GuestI’m a bit on a budget and want to get my son a new bike. He said he would be fine with anything, but I am leaning towards getting him a mountain bike. I don’t intend to spend a whole bunch, because he isn’t going to use a mountain bike to actually ride the mountains or most trails. I expect him to use it for school mostly and to hang out with friends.
Down the road I will get him a better bike, probably one like mine so that we can go riding together. Anyway, any suggestions for good mountain bikes below £500?

Inactive[HEADING=3]Giant Talon 4 GE Mountain Bike would be a good choice. It comes with Shimano Tourney shifter, which is reliable and long-lasting. You can also choose between different wheel sizes: 27.5” and 29”. This would be an ideal choice for daily commute and to hangout with friends.[/HEADING]

InactiveMangoose Malus Fat bike would be great, if you like fat tires. It has 4” wide tyres, i think this is the widest tires available at this price range. Has a beast look. And is under £500.

Mongoose Switchback is an entry-level bike and it’s perfectly suitable for casual off-road rides. This bike comes with mechanical disc brakes and it has a lightweight, streamlined, and sleek aluminum frame painted in various attractive colors.September 30, 2021 at 7:57 pm #1762Anonymous

If you want something better though, I’d skip mongoose.
