Do you listen to music when riding, or do you leave ears open to minimize the risks?

Riding can be dangerous if you go out at night or are on busy streets. I was wondering if anyone here enjoys listening to music while riding? I used to bring a CD player and a few CDs and listen to those as I rode. Wasn’t the best experience, but it got the job done for me at the time. But do you guys suggest not listening to music when riding? I feel like it’s best to maybe keep those ears open in case you need to hear for a car or something else.

I like to listen to music still, so I have some bluetooth earbuds, but I only use it in one ear so I can be aware of my surroundings still. What about you?

I think it best to not have any distractions when riding, because what if there is a car behind you, or coming from the sides? You want to be certain that you’re safe and that motorists are also safe.

I think that having one ear open is ideal, so that’s good on you to only use one earbud.

I try to minimize my risk, so I don’t listen to music while riding. I will if I workout on a workout bike, but that’s different. If I do listen to music, it’s not with earbuds or anything. I have a small bluetooth stereo I take with me, and I use that to listen to music when riding. This way I can hear everything around me and be much safer.

I love listening to music, during my early morning ride. However it’s not good to listen to music while riding in the busy city roads. You won’t be able to hear ongoing traffic and could be dangerous.

I actually love to listen to music while riding. But it’s too risky. It sometime just take out attention. Distractions while riding is dangerous. So most of the time I try to avoid it.

I love listening to music, would wear ear buds in one ear. So that I can enjoy music and any other sounds from the road.

Riding is as pleasure for me. Don’t want to spoil with noise and music. It’s my own my time. Would enjoy myself, by being fully aware while riding.
